VTXP-6 STM-1/STS-3 SDH/SONET TU/VT Processor and Cross-Connect (TXC-06951)
Summary
The VTXP-6 is a highly integrated, versatile device that provides low-order TU-11/TU-12/VT1.5/VT2/TU-3 and high-order VC-4/VC-3/STS-3c/STS-1 processing, re-timing, performance monitoring and cross-connect for SDH/SONET STM-1/STS-3 rates. On the line side, the device provides a single standard byte wide 77.76 MHz TelecomBus or two standard byte wide 19.44 MHz TelecomBus interfaces. The device supports Drop and Add bus timing modes using four standard byte wide 19.44 MHz TelecomBus interfaces. In the receive direction, performance monitoring for VC-3 paths is performned and high-order VC-4/VC-3/STS-1 terminated paths are processed for low-order pointer processing, or cross-connected for pass-through (continue) or drop mode. Low-order traffic is process and re-timed based on single reference on output TelecomBus. Extensive low-order performance monitoring is integrated requiring no additional external components, for SNCP / UPSR support at high or low-order traffic. The device implements strictly non-blocking cross-connect with multicast between the two line and add/drop interfaces for any legal mix of TU-11/TU-12/TU-3/ VT1.5/VT2 or VC-4/VC-3/STS-1 traffic. A fully functional Device Driver is available through TranSwitch Applications Engineering.
